Welcome to the Indy’s Fifth Annual Comix Issue, where we invite illustrators, storytellers, artists and creators of all kinds to submit original artwork for this special issue. Past versions of our Comix Issue have featured decorated comic book professionals and emerging amateurs, traditional fine artists and Marvel fangirls, wry champions of the stick-figure and whip-smart Tom Tomorrow devotees. No matter who you are or what your background, we’re hoping you’ll send us your most visually stimulating, politically poignant or laugh-out-loud creation.
Our theme for this year’s issue is “Missoula Confessions.” Your submission should speak to this theme, but how it does so is entirely up to you. Your submission should also be created as sequential art that tells a full story, but there are no limitations on the number of panels or how you arrange them as long as they conform to one of the sizes specified below. Our final selections will be made based on creativity, artistry, narrative and overall execution.
The best comic strips will be published in the May 10 Independent as part of our Fifth Annual Comix Issue. If you’re interested in submitting, check out the details below or at our submissions page.
