Burns St. Bistro doesn’t play brunch safe. The popular Westside eatery likes to challenge Missoula palates with an ever-changing menu of adventurous but delicious cuisine. Recently, BSB went full-on Nordic with karelian potato pasty, lefse, savory bacon pancakes and cured smoked halibut. A week later, in honor of baseball season, they shelled out coney dogs and 7-layer dip. Chefs Walker Hunter and Ryan Smith are the winningly mad scientists behind the well-executed experiments, and they also pull off a regular menu of tasty options, among which we’re especially fond of the huevos rancheros. BSB picks up a third category this year as Best Caterer, which is no surprise, considering the restaurant got its start feeding festivals and weddings with award-winning slow-cooked meats and sides that give a new twist to cookout classics.
